The fifth wheel, also known as a kingpin, is the component of your truck that connects the truck’s towing apparatus to the trailer it pulls. Each time you hook up and unhook your truck, this component undergoes stress from being yanked around and from having the weight of the trailer resting on it. Over time, your fifth wheel may deteriorate due to this wear and tear or due to exposure to extreme weather conditions.
