SILENCER

The Benefits of Truck and Lorry Silencers or Mufflers

Large trucks and lorries may be some of the most efficient vehicles on the road, but these large vehicles have loud engines which means they’re constantly bothering those around them with their roaring sounds. If you’re the owner of a large truck or lorry and would like to reduce the noise your engine makes while at work, consider installing mufflers/silencers on your vehicle. These truck and lorry mufflers/silencers can reduce your engine’s sound levels by up to 10 decibels, resulting in much more pleasant working conditions both for you and those around you.

Reducing noise pollution

One of the most widely understood benefits to installing a muffler or silencer is to reduce noise pollution. Environmental laws often state that commercial vehicles must be fitted with noise-reducing equipment for better health and safety, as excessive noise can cause issues such as stress, depression, high blood pressure, hearing loss, heart disease and even sleep disturbances. This serves as further justification for having your truck fitted with one of these essential products.

Saving costs and vehicle wear-and-tear

Engines are designed to run most efficiently at a certain RPM. When you step on your gas pedal, your engine turns faster—but not at a consistent rate. Instead, it revs unevenly as it builds up speed. This creates an unnecessarily loud drone noise known as idle or chatter. If you're driving in an urban area, every time you shift into a higher gear, that rapid increase in engine speed will cause idle chatter for as long as 20 seconds after each shift. With standard mufflers, that means anywhere from two to four minutes of extra droning per drive.
